My name is Colin, and just to the right you can see a picture of my wife and I taken not to long ago.

I live in Ontario, Canada and I have the pleasure of being able to earn money just by doing what I love.

My biggest joy in life is learning about personal development and success, and sharing what I've learned with others.

How This Website Got Started

It all started several years ago. At that time I was broke and angry or depressed almost all of the time. And I had been for many years.

One night, I was surfing around the internet looking for some information. I can't even really remember what I was searching for at the time. But as I was surfing around, I stumbled across a website that was talking about the law of attraction.

My first reaction was that this all sounded like a lot of hooey, but part of me still paid some attention and I kept reading. Finally I had come across something that offered me some hope. Some hope that maybe things could change for the better.

That was my first exposure to the whole realm of learning about personal development and success. That one article started a hunger inside me that was insatiable. I went on a learning frenzy reading book after book and website after website. This 'frenzy' went on for several years.

As I continued to learn more about personal development and success, I realized that part of the reason that I wasn't happy was that I was in a career doing something that I didn't love. It was something that I was doing just to make money so that I could pay the bills. What an unpleasant way to spend the majority of your waking time - doing something you don't enjoy!

So, I started thinking about what I would like to do instead. It didn't take long for me to figure out that what I was spending my free time doing was probably a good place to start. As I thought about it more, I realized that not only did I enjoy learning about how to improve myself and my life, I also enjoyed sharing what I had learned with others.

As I thought about it some more, it made sense to me that the best way to reach the most people would be with a website. But my problem was that all I knew was a tiny little bit of html that I had learned years ago. And even with that knowledge, my memory on how to use it was foggy at best.

I had lots that I wanted to share with the world, but I was still struggling with my technical dillema of not knowing how to share it. As I was looking for the answer, I stumbled across Site Build It.
